They say great teams don’t just build systems—they build stories. As I reflect on my incredible time with the Grupo Piñero IT team in Jamaica, it feels more like a historic chapter than a job. These weren’t just colleagues; they were family, comedians, warriors, and miracle-workers—each bringing a spark that lit up our everyday grind.
Let me take you behind the scenes and introduce you to some of the legends that made 2023 an unforgettable ride.
Picture this: While Jesus famously turned water into wine, I decided to flip the script—turning wine back into water! If that’s not a divine prank, what is? 😂
Armed with his lens and his sense of humor, Moodie captured not just photos but full-blown cosmic events. He didn’t just document our journey—he made it epic.
Every team needs a wild card, and Kamaly wears that crown with pride. Busy day? He’ll crack a joke. Deadline pressure? He’s the first to laugh in the face of chaos.
Let’s just say if IT had a general, Kamaly would be in the war room… with snacks and sarcasm. He may hate doing certain tasks—but somehow, he always got them done. Mad respect. Literally.
You see these two? Legends in their own right. The backstory behind our favorite group photo?
I was literally begging them to do something they absolutely hated. The pain on their faces? Hilarious. The final outcome? Golden. Working with them was a masterclass in camaraderie, quiet genius, and plenty of shared laughs.
Ah yes, the one and only Ms. D, the graceful force of nature who gave our team new life. We called her our plug—because whatever you needed, she got it done.
Since joining the team, she brought elegance, solutions, and just the right amount of sass to make every task a royal affair. A true queen of the IT realm.
Now this one’s for the books:
Whenever all IT men were seen walking at once, something was up. Either we were solving a disaster… or we were headed to one of the fanciest restaurants in town. Either way, something had to go down. 😂
It was always a riot—and always worth it.
Sometimes, a little rum and a breeze were the secret ingredients to solving the hardest problems. Our team knew how to troubleshoot, but we also knew how to chill. That balance made every tough day manageable and every win more meaningful.
Working with Marvin, Stevie, Kemar, Moodie, Kamaly, Ricardo, Lusiane, and Ms. D was one of the greatest professional experiences of my life.
We built networks, fixed systems, solved outages—but most of all, we built memories that will last forever. As I move on to new adventures, this chapter remains golden.
To my IT family in Jamaica—thank you for the madness, the miracles, and the memories.
Until our wires cross again...
