Summer Goals 2024: The Hits, The Misses, and The Fun Along the Way
Did I enjoy my summer break? Oh, let me take you on a little
journey…
My summer didn’t start with sandy beaches or endless sunsets
— it kicked off with a hefty dose of reality.
Picture this: me, a notepad, and a pen, scribbling down a
list of summer goals with all the optimism of someone who hasn’t met August
yet.
Nine big, bold items made the cut: And still a work in
progress
- Create
a web app that churns out ATS-customized resumes and cover letters like a
boss.
2. Build a full-fledged social mobile app for my church
(yes, seriously).
3. Help a friend with their…ahem, adults-only chat
and discussion app (if you know, you know).
4. And that’s just scratching the surface!
Fast forward to today. The summer sun has set, and my
checklist… well, let’s just say it’s a work in progress. Out of nine grand
plans, I managed to tick off only four. Yes, four. The glass is definitely half
full, right?
Oh, and did I mention the ambitious start-of-summer plan to
ace three certification exams and write a couple of peer-reviewed journal
articles? Yeah…about that. It’s September 4th, 2024, and I’m sitting here, with
exactly zero articles written and certifications still waiting to be conquered.
But here’s the kicker: despite how often I fall short, I
never shy away from making these lists with the same enthusiasm every single
time. It’s a bit like hoping your favorite TV show doesn’t get canceled after
one season.
Hope — where would we be without it?
Now, don’t get me wrong, I know how to have fun too! My
favorite human being (you know who you are!) whisked me away to Steez
for a day of laughs and good vibes, making it one of the best moments as summer
wound down.
So yes, fun was had.
